Legendary former Inter President Massimo Moratti believes that current Nerazzurri head coach has dispelled doubts that he is up to the task of taking charge of the club this season.

Speaking to the press while receiving the Ambrogino D’Oro civic award, as reported by FCInter1908, the former President gave the view that Inzaghi has proved himself with the job he has already done.

Inzaghi had a tough task in replacing Antonio Conte at the helm of the Nerazzurri at the beginning of the summer, with the former Juventus, Italy, and Chelsea boss having guided the club to their first Scudetto in eleven years just before departing.

However, Inzaghi has looked up to the task if the performances and results that his Inter team have gotten are any indication, as his team are very much in contention for the Scudetto as well as in the Champions League round of sixteen.

Moratti is impressed with what he’s seen even though he was not initially sure about the choice of the former Lazio coach to take charge in place of Conte.

“I’m not surprised,” he said of the coach’s job so far, “he’s good. At the beginning I had doubts, now he has been consistently proving himself. He’s doing a great job and I’m very happy.”

And of this evening’s Champions League clash with Real Madrid, he stated that “Inter have played so well lately that I think that they can easily be on par with Real, perhaps even better.”
