Ex-Cagliari Striker Robert Acquafresca: “Inter Are Doing Well But Cagliari Can Stay Up”

Former Cagliari and Bologna believes that the matchup between Inter and Cagliari will be tough for the Rossoblu but that the Sardinians are still in good form heading into it.
Speaking to Italian news outlet TuttoMercatoWeb, the former striker suggested that there is more to the Rossoblu than their table position would suggest.
Cagliari come into the match at the San Siro in the relegation zone, with head coach Walter Mazzarri as of yet unable to establish any kind of winning form to lift them into midtable.
However, some of the Rossoblu’s recent performances have been very encouraging, with a hard-fought draw against Torino in their last match giving an indication that they can take their game even to quality opposition.
Getting any result off of the in-form Italian champions will be a big challenge for Mazzarri’s men, but they can still be confident over the rest of the season.
“Inter are doing well, Cagliari are coming off the back of a few draws which has not not been enough to change the trend,” Acquafrsca stated.
“But in football you have to aim to win even when you are not the favourite,” he went on. “Mazzarri hoped to be out of the drop zone.”
“Even in the key moments, luck seems to go against them,” he said of the Rossoblu, concluding that “I am confident that in the long run they’ll stay up.”
