Former Inter defender Daniele Adani believes that the Nerazzurri are playing the best brand of football in Serie A right now.

Speaking to Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport in an interview in an interview published in today’s print edition, the former defender hailed Inter’s qualities as demonstrated by their performance against Roma.

The Nerazzurri have looked to have more or less completely absorbed the stylistic ideas of head coach Simone Inzaghi over the course of the season, and they now possess both a formidable attack and the ability to control matches.

The 3-0 win against the Giallorossi at the Stadio Olimpico was a highlight of Inter’s season thus far, showing that they are a team capable of dominating even at a difficult away stadium.

Even within that match, the Nerazzurri’s second goal stood out, with the team patiently stringing together twenty passes and gradually ratcheting up the pressure until the last few passes which were decisive and then a good finish by Edin Dzeko against his former club.

On the team playing the best football in the Italian top flight right now, Adani stated “Right now it’s Inter, because they play a versatile football which gives players freedom to interpret, enriching the solidity from last season.”

“Dzeko’s goal against Roma is the most beautiful team goal we’ve seen so far,” he added.

He added that “Progressing in Europe is good for Inter because it is a sign that they are growing as a team.”

Adani also gave his views on the Scudetto race as the first half of the season comes close to an end, stating that “Inter would seem to be favourites.”

“Look at how they got to where they are,” he explained, “they showed that they could hold on even when they weren’t beating the other top sides – they never broke down.”

“Against Napoli they risked going ten points behind and instead they made up ground,” he continued, “and within two weeks they had turned it around in the table.”

“So in terms of the calendar, self-belief, quality of play and strength of their squad I would say Inter,” he concluded of the Scudetto favourites.
