Current SPAL and former Fiorentina and Villarreal striker Giuseppe Rossi believes that Inter coach Simone Inzaghi has guided the Nerazzurri to being Scudetto favourites.

Speaking to the Sportweek insert in today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, Rossi praised Inzaghi for implementing his ideas and predicted that the Nerazzurri will win Serie A once again.

Inzaghi has brought his own style of play to the Nerazzurri when he took over from Antonio Conte in the summer, and his time at the club has already seen his ideas evolve as well.

The former Fiorentina coach has transitioned Inter towards being more of a possession-based team, and they have reaped the rewards on the pitch in the form of a string of excellent results over the past few weeks.

The five-match winning streak since the return from the international break has seen Inzaghi’s team jump ahead of AC Milan and Napoli at the top of the table, and Rossi believes that they will continue on like this.

“The Nerazzurri will make it two in the league,” he predicted, “I believe that they’ll do it again this year.”

He went on that “Simone Inzaghi has found the right balance and a suitable style of play, after a summer in which top players who were central to the project, namely Lukaku and Hakimi, were sold.”
