Former Inter defender Daniele Adani has said that Atalanta are worthy challengers to Inter in the Serie A title race this season, according to a report in the Italian media today.
Speaking during an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport, Daniele Adani explained that Atalanta have entered the title fight after a good recent patch but they also still have lots of room for improvement.
“In the last period, Atalanta entered the championship fight by force and today they are a credible challenger. And it is not only because of the comeback in the standings last month, but because, paradoxically, Gasperini’s team still has a lot of room for improvement.”
Daniele Adani then held La Dea up as an example of how hard work and competent leadership can end up with success and perhaps Gianpiero Gasperini is finally going to get the trophy that his work at the club deserves.
“Atalanta is the symbol of how work and competence has value, with Pasalic the star of the moment. Is Gasperini ready to reap the seeds? It has been a while, now it is fair to say that he deserves to collect all the good things he has done over the years, where he has achieved unthinkable results.”
Atalanta looked as though they would not have much involvement in the title fight this season because they made a very slow start to the campaign and have had a lot of injuries to very important players such as Robin Gosens and Hans Hateboer. Now they are third.
