Ex-Inter forward Arturo Di Napoli has claimed that the Nerazzurri are the team to beat in Serie A this season and therefore the title favourites, according to a report in the Italian broadcast media.
Speaking whilst on the CMIT TV Twitch channel, via FCInternews, Arturo Di Napoli explained that at the current rate that Inter are performing, they are the team everyone will be wanting to beat.
“At this rate, I believe that the Nerazzurri are the team to beat in the league.”
He also discussed the constant comparisons that are made between new Inter boss Simone Inzaghi and the former boss, Antonio Conte.
He said that they are different coaches and that whilst Inter have continued some of Antonio Conte’s work, they are also a team that has a lot of fun under Simone Inzaghi.
“Inzaghi and Conte are two different coaches. Inzaghi has made an important journey at Lazio, enhancing players and showing good football.
“However, I believe that comparisons should not be made. Inter is a team that wins and has fun, I think they have made a huge step forward, with Inzaghi giving continuity to Conte’s work.”
Inter have been drawn to face Premier League side, Liverpool, in the Round of 16 in February which is arguably the hardest draw they could have got, and Arturo Di Napoli feels it will be tough.
“Liverpool are a difficult team, with the 3-5-2 all the teams struggling internationally, but Inter will face the Reds with great conviction.”
