Legendary former Nerazzurri goalkeeper Walter Zenga is impressed with how Inter have achieved emphatic victories in Serie A without seeming to come close to reaching top gear.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, as reported by FCInterNews, the 61-year-old emphasized that he felt that the Nerazzurri barely looked to have put effort into their recent routs of Cagliari and Salernitana.

The work on the training ground under Simone Inzaghi has begun to visibly pay off this season, with the team looking very comfortable and composed on the pitch across all matches and all phases of play.

This has resulted in very few chances conceded and, at the other end, the appearance that the team can find good opportunities to score almost at will.

Zenga is increasingly impressed with this quality in the team, as the results become consistently great and the team do not leave any doubt or play close to their limit.

On the 5-0 win over Salernitana he stated that “It was a match that Inter won without any issues, in the last two weeks Inter beat Cagliari and Salernitana, scoring nine goals and conceding none, but above all without much effort.”

“It was an opportunity for Inzaghi to try out many ideas,” he went on, “for example Calhanoglu in front of the defense in the final twentyminutes against Salernitana in place Brozovic, who was a great intuition.”

He also spoke of departed Inter midfielder Christian Eriksen, stating that “I want to pay tribute to Eriksen, he is a great loss for Italian football. Things could not have been otherwise, but I send him a big hug.”
