Inter are ready to move for Lazio wing-back Mohamed Fares during the January transfer window should Aleksandar Kolarov depart.
This according to Italian news outlet FCInterNews, who report that Fares will leave his current loan club Genoa next month and that the Nerazzurri are considering him as a potential left-sided option.
Kolarov could leave the Nerazzurri in January, with the 36-year-old not having been a regular feature in the team this season and potentially seeking more minutes at Cagliari.
Should this happen, then the Nerazzurri would likely look to sign a left-sided wing-back option, with Federico Dimarco primarily seen as a centre-back.
Fares has long been a target for Inter, with Sporting Director Piero Ausilio an admirer of the Algerian, who the club even tried to sign from SPAL in 2019.
The Nerazzurri remain interested in the player, and were Kolarov to depart in January then he would be one of their first choices to come in and compete with Ivan Perisic for a place on the left.
Meanwhile, the likes of Sassuolo, Torino, and Napoli have also inquired about Fares in January.
