Inter are not likely to make any signings during the January transfer market apart from finding a replacement for Matias Vecino in the event that he leaves the club.
This according to Sky Sport Italia transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio, who reported live on air that the Nerazzurri are not set for any major signings next month.
The Nerazzurri already have a deep squad with quality options across every position, although this would not entirely rule out the possibility of further arrivals on paper.
However, the January transfer market could be difficult and it is not clear what opportunities there would be to meaningfully increase the quality available to coach Simone Inzaghi without major financial outlays.
Accordingly, the only thing that would spur the club to act in the market according to Di Marzio would be if Vecino is to leave the club, leaving a free slot in the midfield.
“Vecino could decide to leave, and in this case he would be replaced,” Di Marzio explained, “but otherwise Inter will not be making any signings in January, instead concentrating on renewing players whose contracts are expiring.”
