On-loan Inter midfielder Marco Pompetti is glad with his recent form at Pescara, and to have scored in their draw against Ancona before the winter break.
Speaking to Italian broadcaster Rete 8, the 21-year-old expressed his happiness that he and his teammates are proving themselves after a tricky start to the campaign.
Pompetti returned to Pescara on loan over the summer, the club from which he joined Inter on a permanent basis in the summer of 2017.
So far the return looks to have been a fruitful one, with the team starting to show good form in their group in Serie C and Pompetti at the heart of it.
The 21-year-old is already being linked with a move up the divisions to join a club in Serie B, though for now his only focus is on helping Pescara to a successful season, something which he is proving himself to be capable of.
“I’m happy with the goal,” he stated. “I had already had two attempts, and on the third it went it.”
“We are proving ourselves after some mediocre matches,” he added, “Reggiana and Modena have a great advantage in the table and they deserve it.”
“However, the size of the points difference does not reflect the truth because when we faced them we gave them an open game,” he added.
