There is no guarantee that Inter will make any signings during the January transfer window.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the Nerazzurri will restrict spending and may go the month without reinforcing their squad.

Inter’s priority in January remains to extend the contracts of players already in the squad who see their deals expire next summer.

Players could be on the way out, with Matias Vecino and Aleksandar Kolarov in particular linked with an exit, and short-term replacements could be brought in.

Moreover, the month will see significant strain on the squad with fixtures in Serie A, the Coppa Italia, and the Supercoppa Italiana against Juventus all coming in before the transfer deadline.

Should the squad look thin or players pick up injuries then the Nerazzurri could move for opportunities that appear later on in the window.

However, there is no guarantee of any of this, and the team could well go the month without making any signings.
