Inter’s focus during the January transfer window will be on contract extensions and on securing free transfers for next summer.

This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, who report that the Nerazzurri will not be prioritizing major signings but instead that they aim to shore up the squad they already have with renewals.

The Nerazzurri’s squad has already looked sufficient over the first half of the season, with the team consistently performing well through squad rotations and injuries.

Accordingly, the main objective in January will be to make serious progress on extending the deals of key players, with Marcelo Brozovic in particular a player  who Inter want to renew.

Meanwhile, the club are also likely to look for free transfers for next summer, with Ajax’s Andre Onana a player they want to secure once and for all while Borussia Monchengladbach’s Matthias Ginter will also be available out of contract.
