Inter are hoping that Everton will agree to a loan with a purchase option but no obligation to buy to bring in left-back Lucas Digne this month.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the Toffees are open to letting the Frenchman leave, but that the Nerazzurri can only bring him in on an initial loan.

Digne has emerged as Inter’s primary left-sided target as they look to find a suitable back-up for Ivan Perisic in the position for the second half of the campaign.

The 28-year-old is out of favour at his current side after falling out with head coach Rafa Benitez, and so the Merseyside club are ready to allow him to leave during the January transfer window already.

However, the Nerazzurri have yet to convince them on a loan deal that includes a purchase option, and this would be necessary before they can bring the player in.
