Roma Captain Lorenzo Pellegrini: “Only Positive Note Of Our Defeat To Inter Was Hearing The Fans”

Inter’s 3-0 win over Roma at the Stadio Olimpico last month was a chastening experience for the Giallorossi.
Speaking to Roma’s official site, the midfielder stated that the loss was one of his team’s low-points for the season and for 2021 as a whole.
Pellegrini missed out on the Giallorossi’s hosting of the Nerazzurri through injury, while a number of his teammates were also absent either through illness or through injury.
The 25-year-old had to watch from the sidelines as an in-form Inter dismantled the Giallorossi on their way to the top of the Serie A table, while the defeat served as an illustration of a gulf in quality between the two teams.
Pellegrini still felt positively about being with the fans at the Stadio Olimpico, but on a footballing level he felt that there was little positive to take from the match given how thoroughly the Nerazzurri outclassed the capital club.
“[Being with the fans] was the only positive part of that night,” he stated. “Like all the fans who were watching from the stands like I was, and all my teammates too, we really took that defeat badly.”
