Former Fiorentina coach Vincenzo Guerini believes that Inter are at the head of a crowded pack in the chase for the Serie A title.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster TMW Radio, the 68-year-old gave his thoughts on the current state of the Scudetto race.

Inter were unable to play their Serie A clash with Bologna yesterday due to COVID cases in the Rossoblu’s squad, while all of their main rivals at the top of the Serie A table playing apart from Atalanta.

Even with second-place AC Milan winning their match against Roma, the Nerazzurri still have a one-point buffer at the top of the table with a game in hand.

However, the points gap in the entire top five is hardly so large that any of the teams that can be ruled out of a Scudetto charge.

However, it does still appear to be the Nerazzurri who are in the strongest position for the title.

Guerini named the Nerazzurri as title favourites, stating that “They are complete and physically fit.”

“But I would not rule out one of their rivals coming back in it,” he added, “we also have to wait and see what effect COVID has. I’d say that at least four or five teams are still in the hunt.”
