Inter midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu will be suspended for tomorrow’s Serie A clash with Lazio.

This is confirmed by the Sporting Judge in Italia, via FCInterNews, who officially announced that the Nerazzurri’s suspended clash with Bologna on Thursday did not count as a result, and so the 27-year-old will serve his suspension against the Biancocelesti instead.

Calhanoglu picked up a yellow card against Torino in Inter’s final match before the winter break, meaning that he was suspended for an accumulation of bookings.

The Turk was set to miss the Nerazzurri’s away trip to Bologna, the next match scheduled as the team’s return from the break.

However, the match was not able to be played on Thursday afternoon as scheduled due to an order by the Emilian regional health authority related to the number of COVID cases in the Rossoblu’s squad.

The Sporting Judge has confirmed that they will not award a 3-0 win to the Nerazzurri for this suspended match and will instead postpone the fixture, and so it will be the clash with Lazio tomorrow that immediately follows the Torino match.

Accordingly, tomorrow’s match at the San Siro will be the one in which Calhanoglu serves his one-match suspension.
