Inter striker Lautaro Martinez feels completely motivated to try and win this evening’s Supercoppa Italiana match against Juventus.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster SportMediaset ahead of the match, the 24-year-old emphasized the importance of securing the first piece of silverware for the club, the fans, and also to reward the hard work by President Steven Zhang.

Inter have been in good form so far this season, currently sitting atop the Serie A table and in the round of sixteen in the Champions League, but they have not yet won a trophy for their efforts.

This evening’s match represents the first opportunity to win silverware, and would be the second one won by the club under the stewardship of Zhang and Suning.

Beating the Bianconeri to win the Supercoppa will be no straightforward task, but Martinez and his teammates know how important it will be to win it for what the club represents.

“We care a lot about winning this match,” he stated. “It’s an important match for both teams. It’s a final against a strong opponent, Juventus, but we’ve come to try and control the game and execute out gameplan.”

“We want to win for the President and for all the fans who always support us,” he added.

“They are a strong team,” he said of the Bianconeri, “but we must put into practice what we’ve been training for in the last few days, and raise the trophy.”
