Former Inter striker Giampaolo Pazzini feels that Inter goalkeeper Samir Handanovic is still a very high-level goalkeeper despite his advancing age and some criticism this season.
Speaking to Italian broadcaster DAZN, the 37-year-old gave the view that the Nerazzurri captain has continued to show that he is at the highest level with his performances for the Nerazzurri.
Handanovic has made a few high-profile errors this campaign, but he has also undoubtedly bailed out his team on a number of occasions by making extremely difficult stops.
Moreover, the Slovenian has looked more confident with his positioning and passing as the season has gone on and he has gotten more settled into how Simone Inzaghi wants the team to play.
Pazzini has been a fan of what he’s seen from the captain this season, stating that “Handanovic is vital in goal, but also in the buildup of Inzaghi’s game.”
“He has looked cultured with his feet, and if he can’t find options he goes long,” he added. “He is still proving himself to be a top goalkeeper”
And on what he expects the Nerazzurri to do over the remaining week of the January transfer window, Pazzini predicted that “It depends a lot on how long Correa will be out for, and also on the future of Sensi.”
