Inter forward Alexis Sanchez is likely to leave in the summer in order to make room in the squad and the wage bill for Sassuolo striker Gianluca Scamacca.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the Nerazzurri will look to offload the Chilean as they seek to refresh their squad with younger options.

Sanchez remains Inter’s highest wage-earner, and despite still contributing to the team, his age and salary mean that the club do not see him as a part of the future of their project.

Across the squad, the strategy is to focus on players who are younger and Italian, and in attack this has meant that Sassuolo’s Sacamacca is one of their primary targets for the summer.

The Nerazzurri are also interested in young Pisa striker Lorenzo Lucca, but it is mainly Scamacca they are determined to move for.

A move for Scamacca will not come cheap, and it is likely to be Sanchez who makes way for the 22-year-old.
