Inter are planning to officially announce the extension of Marcelo Brozovic’s contract soon, likely immediately after the derby clash with AC Milan.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the Nerazzurri have everything in place to extend the midfielder’s deal and are only waiting for the right time to announce it.

Talks have progressed well with Brozovic’s representatives since contract talks began in mid-November, and the Nerazzurri must only go through the last bureaucratic hurdles to finalize his new deal.

Once the January transfer window is closed, the club are aiming to send a positive signal by officially renewing with the 29-year-old who is a key player for the club.

The agreement between the parties is for a four-year deal worth a net of €6 million per season, rising to €7 million including in add-ons.

The club could look to announce the agreement shortly after the Milan derby.
