Inter striker Lautaro Martinez is set to start for the Argentine national team in tonight’s World Cup qualifying clash with Colombia.
This according to Argentine news outlet Ahora.com.ar, who report that Albiceleste coach Lionel Scaloni is set to make a number of changes to his team for the match but that Martinez will start alongside Angel Di Maria in attack.
Nerazzurri head coach Simone Inzaghi will be watching Martinez carefully in view of the derby clash with AC Milan on Saturday, in the hopes that the 24-year-old can stay fit and not suffer from fatigue.
The striker already started for Argentina in their win over the Chilean national time earlier in the international break, getting on the scoresheet in a 2-1 victory.
Despite already having secured qualification to the 2022 World Cup, Scaloni wants his team to make a good showing against Colombia, though Inzaghi could be hoping that Martinez is taken off for a rest at some point during the match.
