Legendary former Inter goalkeeper Walter Zenga is surprised that the Nerazzurri took a risk by allowing Stefano Sensi to leave on loan for the rest of the season.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, as reported by FCInterNews, he gave the view that with Sensi on loan at Sampdoria, midfield depth could become a problem for the Nerazzurri.

Inter let Sensi join the Blucerchiati on a dry loan for the rest of the season in the hope that he will find consistent fitness and form as a regular in their eleven under Marco Giampaolo.

Despite his talents, the 26-year-old has not been able to establish a foothold in the Nerazzurri’s team this season thanks to injuries and the wealth of options ahead of him in midfield.

The club’s plan is to have the player get back to his best rather than sitting on the bench for a good part of the rest of the campaign, but in the view of Zenga they have also weakened themselves in the short term.

“Inter’s midfield has Marcelo Brozovic, Nicolo Barella, and Hakan Calhanoglu, with Matias Vecino, Roberto Gagliardini, and Arturo Vidal as backups,” he explained.

“Having let Sensi go out on loan, who in any case has played more behind the striker, represents a gamble for them,” he went on.
