Former AC Milan defender Massimo Oddo has said that the title race would be over if Inter beats the Rossoneri on Saturday, according to a report in the Italian broadcast media.
Speaking whilst on Milan TV, the club’s official TV channel, via FCInternews, the former defender showed that he is very concerned about the prospect of Inter opening up a 10 point gap between themselves and AC Milan.
“Milan must win to keep the championship alive, if Inter were to win this match, the Serie A race would be practically over.”
The Derby della Madonnina is this Saturday evening and Inter go into the game as slight favourites. Massimo Oddo feels that his old team must play the game to their strengths and get their forwards into the game quickly.
“Milan must play with its forwards, it must recover some players because it was very unfortunate. Inter is a strong team, probably more ready than Milan but they have more perspective. They are a young team and they will be able to play this game openly.”
Inter are four points ahead of Napoli in second right now and they also have a game in hand. They are seven points ahead of AC Milan so the pressure is really on the Rossoneri to take all three points and keep their hopes alive.
