Sampdoria head coach Marco Giampaolo is glad to be working with Inter midfielder Stefano Sensi for the rest of the season.

Speaking in a press conference, as reported by L’Interista, the Blucerchiati coach praised the 26-year-old’s quality and expressed his happiness at having the midfielder at his disposal as he is on loan for the rest of the campaign.

Giampaolo has returned to Sampdoria for his second spell in charge, replacing the sacked Roberto D’Aversa last month.

One of the key pieces of business that the Ligurian club did during the January transfer window appeared to be bringing in Sensi on a dry loan, with the Nerazzurri man seeking regular playing time so that he can find fitness and form.

Even though Giampaolo will likely only be working with Sensi until the end of this season, he is looking forward to getting the chance to build his team around a player who he holds in high regard.

“As far as new signings during the January transfer window, I’d say that Sensi is a fantastic player,” he stated.
