Barcelona have offered Inter midfielder Marcelo Brozovic a five-year deal worth €8 million net per season once his current deal with Inter expires in the summer.

This according to Italian newspaper La Repubblica, via FCInter1908, who report that the 29-year-old is considering the Catalan giants’ offer, while the Nerazzurri are still optimistic he’ll sign their contract extension offer very soon.

The Nerazzurri have offered Brozovic and a four-year deal worth €6 million net per season which he has been considering since December.

The club have hoped to get the deal signed by now to ward off the interest of top European clubs in trying to tempt him away on a free transfer, with Premier League sides Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United among those interested.

However, the Balugranas are making a late push to convince the Croat, with their big money offer being considered by Brozovic, which is possibly the reason why he hasn’t signed an extension with Inter yet.

The Nerazzurri are still hopeful that they will get Brozovic’s renewal wrapped up soon however, with CEO Beppe Marotta having expressed before the Milan derby he expected the player to sign a new deal shortly.

Inter are hoping that they can get the deal done in the next ten days, though Barcelona’s offer is being considered by the Croatian international.
