Football agent Oscar Damiani has questioned why Simone Inzaghi did not play Andrei Radu in the Coppa Italia match against AS Roma on Tuesday, according to a report in the Italian media today.

Speaking during an interview with gianlucadimarzio.com, Oscar Damiani expressed his surprise at the fact that Simone Inzaghi chose to start with regular first-choice goalkeeper Samir Handanovic rather than give a chance to the second goalkeeper, Andrei Radu.

“Why didn’t Ionut Andrei Radu play? Although many expected him to, including us, he was not given space even in the Italian Cup. This decision surprised us: the first match, against Empoli, he had played for 120 minutes doing well.”

Oscar Damiani points out that the goalkeeper had options in the January transfer window to leave but the club chose to keep him. Now they are not playing him.

“In the winter he had important requests in Europe, but Inter wanted to keep him. In training they tell him that he is good, but when there is to prove it, they don’t let him play.

“I respect the club’s choices, everyone has his job, but he deserved this stage. And the player was disappointed, obviously without taking anything away from Handanovic or Inzaghi.”

Oscar Damiani also spoke about another Inter youngster, Lucien Agoume. He is currently on loan at Stade Brest in Ligue 1 and he has been impressive there.

The agent thinks that he could be a serious option for Inter in the future but right now he is benefitting from the continuity that a season long loan gives him.

“For now the important thing is that he finds continuity: he is focused on the present, even if I think he could be a valid player for Inter soon. He is very young but he already has great experience. He is serene, he wants to continue like this.”
