Inter-linked Sassuolo midfielder Davide Frattesi is currently not focused on the possibility of joining a big club in the summer transfer window.

Speaking to Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport in an interview published in today’s print edition, the 22-year-old emphasized that his current priority is having success with the Neroverdi, and also named Inter’s Nicolo Barella he is most similar to.

Frattesi’s form this season in Serie A with Sassuolo has earned him many admirers and also marked him out as a target for top clubs in the division, with Inter in particular strongly linked.

The 22-year-old is seen as a player who could reinvigorate the midfield of a club in the Nerazzurri’s situation, adding quality for seasons to come given his age.

He isn’t getting ahead of himself, however, and only plans to consider the possibility of a move away from Sassuolo when the time comes for it.

“Honestly, I’m not thinking about it,” he said about a possible move to a top club, “everything goes through Sassuolo.”

“If I were to leave one day then that would be another matter, but right now I’m fine here and I want to make my contribution as we look to reach our objectives,” he added.

Asked about which player he would compare himself to most, Frattesi noted that “In terms of my style and how I am on the pitch, and in terms of current players, I see myself as similar to Barella.”
