Inter and AC Milan have hired urban planner Giuseppe Bonomi to help them push through their plans for a new stadium in the city amid potential deadlock with the municipality.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Le Repubblica, who report that the clubs want to get started on construction as soon as possible, but could push the completion date back to 2027.

The clubs have been pushing forward with plans to construct a new stadium, which they see as vital to modernize their infrastructure and increase revenues, but a number of issues have still held them back from starting construction.

Facing a potential stalemate with the municipality, the clubs are not wasting any time in trying to push through their plans, and their next move looks to be hiring urban planner Bonomi.

The clubs had already approached Bonomi in 2019 about the possibility of getting a new stadium built in the Sesto San Giovanni area, and this could still be their Plan B should he be unable assist them with convincing the municipality to allow them to start construction in the San Siro district.
