Inter striker Edin Dzeko bagged his tenth goal of the season in Serie A against Napoli in yesterday’s 1-1 draw, and it could be his most important one yet.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who highlight how the Bosnian’s strike could have major Scudetto implications for the Nerazzurri.

Dzeko hasn’t always been clinical in front of goal since joining Inter last summer, but of his fourteen goals across all competitions, many have come at the most important of times.

The 35-year-old opened the scoring against his former side Roma in wins in both Serie A and the Coppa Italia, while he also got a brace against Shakhtar Donetsk to book the Nerazzurri’s place in the Champions League knockouts with a game to spare.

Last month he scored very late on to clinch a 2-1 comeback win against Venezia, and now he’s made sure that the Nerazzurri didn’t allow title rivals Napoli to take all three points and helped his team maintain control at the top of the table.

The Bosnian will be looking ahead to Wednesday’s first leg round of sixteen clash with Liverpool in the Champions League, and thinking that he can once again pop up when his team needs him most.
