Former Inter and Roma and current Antwerp midfielder Radja Nainggolan feels that current Nerazzurri striker Edin Dzeko is a world-class player in his position.
Speaking to the OCW Sport Twitch channels, as reported by FCInterNews, the Belgian named Dzeko as the top striker he has ever played with in his career, and also spoke of having a positive relationship with former Inter striker Mauro Icardi.
This season Dzeko has been repaying Inter’s trust to sign him from Roma over the summer, but he had already done much to establish a positive reputation for himself within Italian football during his time at the Giallorossi.
Dzeko spent six seasons in the Italian capital, three of which were shared with Nainggolan, where the pair were both key players in the team.
Nainggolan was highly impressed by what he saw from the Bosnian before he left to join Inter in the summer of 2018.
“I prefer strikers who make the entire team play well like Dzeko, who is the best striker I’ve played with,” he said.
He also added of Icardi that “Three years ago he was one of the best strikers in the world because he was one of the best finishers. Today he does not play anymore, this is why sometimes you need five years to judge a player.”
He added that “I had a good relationship with him at Inter, though he didn’t open up much.”
