Former Parma and Lazio defender Nestor Sensini always had the sense that his former Biancocelesti teammate Simone Inzaghi would become a top-quality coach.

Speaking to Italian news outlet TuttoMercatoWeb, the 55-year-old explained that the current Inter coach always gave the impression of having the tools to reach the highest level as a coach.

Inzaghi had gained a reputation for his tactical acumen and detail orientation even in his days as a player, with the former Biancocelesti striker known for his meticulous preparations for matches.

The 45-year-old went right into coaching, first with Lazio’s youth teams and then first team, and then made the switch to the Nerazzurri during the summer where he is currently enjoying a highly positive season.

Sensini isn’t surprised by any of this, and having played with Inzaghi in the Italian capital the Argentine always felt that he had this in him.

“Always said he was destined to go farm” he said. “Inter’s attack is crazy, they always manage to find a goal. Despite being young, he already has a fair amount of experience – Simone has everything to deliver the Scudetto to the Nerazzurri.”

“But my friend Spalletti’s Napoli and Milan are still in it,” he went on, “they will also remain in the running until the end.”
