Inter coach Simone Inzaghi still has full confidence in Lautaro Martinez despite the Argentinian forward’s poor form this season, according to a report in the Italian print media today.

As has been reported by Corriere dello Sport, this season was meant to be the one where Lautaro Martinez had additional responsibility and stature in the team following Romelu Lukaku’s departure to Chelsea.

Instead he has two fewer goals at this stage of the Serie A campaign than he did last season and has not scored in seven Champions League games.

He does not seem to have developed a partnership with Edin Dzeko on the pitch like the one he had with Romelu Lukaku last season but despite this, Simone Inzaghi still has faith in the player.

It seems that everyone at Inter has faith that as soon as he finds the back of the net again, he will go on a great run of form.
