Inter must get back to their best in terms of their form and energy level, and they must do so quickly to keep themselves afloat in the Serie A title race.

This is highlighted in today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who note that Nerazzurri coach Simone Inzaghi’s Lazio sides often gave a sense of burnout and fatigue in the run-ins of seasons and that his Inter must avoid this.

Inter have had by far their worst month of the season in February, and even though their Scudetto hopes are still entirely in their own hands on paper, they come out of their past few matches worse for wear.

The worry beyond the difficulties of the month is that these struggles will be more long-term, and that the team will experience some burnout that will make them unable to maintain their form from the first parts of the campaign.

When in charge of Lazio, Inzaghi managed to guide the team to an average of 1.96 points per match across the first half of campaigns in his five full seasons in charge, and just 1.69 over the second half.

The coach has faced the biggest test of his resolve so far during a rocky February, and his task from here on out will be to show that he can guide the team to a complete recovery in energy, enthusiasm, and most importantly in results rather than letting this linger on.
