Inter-owned striker Martin Satriano has revealed that he said yes to a loan move at Stade Brest because of the project that they have in place, according to a report in the Italian print media today.
Speaking during an interview with Tuttosport, the Uruguayan striker explained that the decision to make the move to France in January was taken by him and his agent because they liked the project that the Ligue 1 side has in place.
He also talked about how much it helped him to spend six months around the Inter first team during the first half of this season.
“We made this decision together with Inter and my agent. We liked the project. For me, these six months with the first team, even if I played very little, were very useful. I learned a lot from the more experienced players, from the mister and his staff.
“I made my debut with Inter, I grew up and became a better player. I tried to steal the secrets of every Inter striker: all the players are of a very high level. Perhaps I observed Martinez more for characteristics, but I think, fortunately, I have learned a little something from all of them.
“Will I be a starter at Inter? Yes, we hope. I have just started and I will have to work extra hard. But with work, humility and the desire to arrive, I can do it. Now I’m happy at Brest. I found what I was missing, that is to play.”
Martin Satriano says that it is too soon to be thinking about his future, his job now is just to prove his worth whilst he is at Stade Brest.
“No, it’s too soon. Now I want to prove my worth, train to the maximum, take the field as much as possible and become stronger and stronger. The rest will be seen later. I have faith in myself and in what I do.”
Lucien Agoume is another Inter youngster that is on loan at Stade Brest this season and Martin Satriano has a lot of praise for the French midfielder.
“We had played a few games with the Primavera and I had been on a retreat with him at Inter. Now he is helping me a lot. I don’t speak French and I speak to him in Italian, if I need him he acts as a translator. He’s really cool, he is doing very well. And he can go very far because he is top quality.”
