Former Inter midfielder Christian Eriksen made his first appearance for his new club Brentford today, and he is glad to be back on the pitch.

Speaking in a press conference, as reported by FCInterNews, the Dane spoke about his happiness at being able to return to playing after having to leave the Nerazzurri in December.

Eriksen had been out for around eight months, missing the entire first portion of the season with Inter as he recovered from the cardiac arrest he suffered at the Euros before terminating his contract by mutual consent.

The Scudetto-winner was unable to continue his adventure in a Nerazzurri shirt due to the Italian regulations around playing with a cardiac implant such as the one that he has.

However, no such regulations exist within English football, and so the Dane has made his playing return with newly-promoted Brentford in the Premier League.

“Despitethe result, I can say I’m a happy man,” he said. “Coming back after everything I’ve been through is a wonderful feeling.”

He went on that :My coach just wished me good luck and to enjoy the game. Everyone was at the stadium – my parents, my children, even some doctors who have assisted me in these months.”

“What they have been through is harder than what I have lived through,” he added. “I want to recovery the old feelings and my touch, to help Brentford stay in Premier League.”
