Inter have been in their worst run of form of the season over their past few matches, and nowhere has this been more apparent than in the slump their attack has been in.

This is detailed in today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who note that the Nerazzurri must regain their cutting edge by showing more confidence and incisiveness in the final third.

Inter had been a free-scoring side for virtually the entirety of the first half of the season, regularly able to rely on their attack even when their defense looked wobbly.

However, the team have now gone 313 minutes without scoring a goal across all competitions, by far their biggest drought of the season.

As the Corriere notes, the lack of a player who can singlehandedly win games like Romelu Lukaku in the forward line has hurt the Nerazzurri in situations like these, as the Belgian was always able to create danger in tough situations.

Against Genoa the Nerazzurri had almost three quarters of possession and probed for an opening, whilst against Sassuolo they created a number of decent chances without scoring.

The Corriere argues that without a striker like Lukaku, the entire team must pick themselves up and show more decisiveness to capitalize on the attacking performances that they show.
