Sassuolo forward Gregoire Defrel is proud of how he and his teammates played in their match with Inter last weekend to beat the Nerazzurri 2-0.
Speaking to Italian broadcaster DAZN after his team’s 2-1 win over Fiorentina on Saturday, the Frenchman gave the view that it’s important for the Neroverdi to beat top sides like Inter and La Viola.
The Neroverdi have not always been consistent throughout the season, frequently dropping points to sides in midtable or the relegation zone in frustrating fashion.
However, at their best Alessio Dionisi’s men have beaten the likes of AC Milan and Juventus, and they got perhaps their most impressive result of the season when they took three points off of the Nerazzurri at the San Siro.
The Neroverdi followed that up by winning against Fiorentina at the Mapei Stadium, needing a very late goal from Defrel to do so.
“I scored this header” he said, “It was beautiful. We’re a great team, Fiorentina are as well, but we played as well as we did against against Inter.”
He added that “”Today we won, and we must continue to do so against the big teams, then see where we end up.”
