Inter striker Lautaro Martinez’s form in front of goals has become more and more of a problem for his team as the entire attack drops off more and more.

This is highlighted in today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who suggest that the 24-year-old is beginning to regress not just in his goalscoring but also in his overall play and mentality.

Martinez had raced to become Inter’s top goalscorer during the first half of the season, but since December 17 the only goal that he’s scored has come from the penalty spot against Juventus.

Now, the Argentine has not been able to take his chances in front of goal and, more worryingly, has rarely looked incisive in any capacity on the pitch.

The striker had looked like an injection of energy in his substitute appearance against Genoa on Friday, but against AC Milan yesterday evening, he barely got on the ball and did little with it when he did.

Martinez remains an important player for the Nerazzurri on paper as their main striker alongside the more reserved and creative Edin Dzeko, but in practice he has not been able to fulfill these responsibilities on the pitch.
