Inter defender Alessandro Bastoni feels that even without fellow defender Stefan de Vrij and midfielder Marcelo Brozovic, the Nerazzurri are a highly formidable side.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster DAZN ahead of this evening’s Serie A clash with Fiorentina, the 22-year-old emphasized that even heading into the match without the pair, the team is still more than capable of getting the result that they need.

Inter drew last weekend against Torino, with both de Vrij and Brozovic absent through the same injuries that are continuing to keep them out against La Viola.

A point will not be good enough against this evening’s opposition, and the team will need to show that they can get the much-needed win even without the duo who are always expected to start when they are fit.

Bastoni feels that the Nerazzurri are still more than capable of doing it, however, stating that “They are important players and fundamental for us, we’ll miss them but we have a strong group and players capable of replacing them.”

On the role that pressure has played in the team’s recent drop in form, he said that “Maybe we’ve thought about it a little too much in recent months and it’s not going well, we need to focus on ourselves and not look at the table to get back on top.”

And of this evening’s opposition, he said that “Fiorentina are a quality team, especially going forward, we have to be careful. From now on, no match is easy.”
