Inter’s miserable run of form in Serie A has seen them fall behind AC Milan and Napoli in the Scudetto chase, but arguably more worrying than the results have been the performances.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Corriere della Sera, who argue that the nature of the Nerazzurri’s displays during most of their recent matches has shown a drop-off on a technical level.

Even after the sequence of matches which saw Inter collect just seven points from seven matches in the league, they are still within striking distance at the top of the table, potentially three points behind AC Milan if they win their game in hand.

The way in which the team have played during this bad run of form, however, has looked like a real issue, as yet another disheartening draw yesterday evening emphasized.

Where the Nerazzurri had looked unstoppable during their best form of the campaign, in recent weeks they have seen their play decline on a stylistic and technical level to the point where they are not really imposing their game on opponents.

A lack of precision in the final third and a sluggishness in midefield with and especially without Marcelo Brozovic has been exposed during this run of results.

Inter still have hope in the Scudetto race based on the league table, but their performances in recent matches could be the real cause for pessimism.
