Inter rely too much on Marcelo Brozovic, and they will need him back at his best when they face Juventus on the other side of the international break.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who brand the Nerazzurri as overly dependent on the 29-year-old to make their midfield tick.

Brozovic will spend the international break resting and working on the training ground to get back to full match fitness and sharpness after missing out on the Nerazzurri’s last two matches through a calf problem.

The Croat’s absence was keenly felt as the team slumped to 1-1 draws against Torino and Fiorentina in Serie A, and it increasingly looks as though they can’t afford to be without his influence in the centre of the pitch.

No solutions have so far looked convincing as the team have attempted to mitigate the absence of Brozovic by changing the balance or playing other players in his role, and it looks clear that the formation that they play can only function with him at the heart of it.
