Inter striker Lautaro Martinez has set the goal of breaking his personal record for goals scored in a single Serie A campaign over the remaining matches of this season.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the 24-year-old wants to hit and exceed the benchmark of seventeen goals, starting with the Nerazzurri’s clash with Juventus this weekend.

Martinez is on fourteen goals for the Serie A campaign so far, meaning that he is three shy of his total from last campaign and has already equalled his total from the 2019-20 season.

The Argentine has not been in the best scoring form in recent weeks apart from a well-taken hat-trick against Salernitana, but his consistent goalscoring earlier in the campaign has brought his total to within touching distance of his personal best.

Martinez has nine matches left in which to score four goals, and he feels that he can do it, targeting a scoring return against the Bianconeri.
