Anderlecht wingback and reported Inter target Sergio Gomez isn’t aware of the interest that the Nerazzurri reportedly have in signing him.
Speaking to Spanish broadcaster Cadena SER following a 3-2 win over Slovakia with the Spanish Under-21 national team, the 21-year-old stated that he was not focused on any transfer rumours to the Nerazzurri.
Inter could be in search of a left wingback to reinforce their squad should Ivan Perisic leave during the summer transfer window when his contract expires.
A younger profile would likely be sought to back up Robin Gosens on the wing, and Gomez’s prolific campaign in the Belgian league with Anderlecht has marked him out as a very serious possibility.
For his part, however, the player has yet to really encounter any such rumours of possible interest and is only focused on his current commitments, with his current team Anderlecht and in the Spanish national team setup.
Asked about links to Inter, he responded that “I’m focused on the last few months left this season. I’m concentrating on the national team, on my club, and I take advantage of all my opportunities. I don’t know anything, really.”
