Inter coach Simone Inzaghi’s future at Inter may not be guaranteed by a place in the top four of the Serie A table at the end of the season.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Corriere della Sera, who report that the coach’s future could still hang in the balance as he heads into the decisive weeks of the season starting with this evening’s trip to face Juventus.

Inzaghi had finishing in the Champions League places of the table as the main part of his remit at the start of the season, along with positive campaigns in the Champions League and the Coppa Italia.

However, a period of surging form during November and December raised expectations to the point where the Nerazzurri even looked like firm favourites to defend their Scudetto crown despite a summer of major upheaval.

The club are keeping everything in perspective, but they are also keeping an eye on how the coach handles the pressure of guiding the team back to form after their lapse since the beginning of February.

Even if Inzaghi ensures that there is no complete collapse which sees the team drop out of the top four, a very unlikely proposition at any rate, the club could conclude that he is no longer the right man for the job.
