Inter found a way to win an ugly game for the first time under Simone Inzaghi when they beat Juventus 1-0 on Sunday evening in Serie A.

This according to Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who report that the team managed to find a “dirty” win despite not creating many chances or playing at their fluid best.

For much of the season, Inter have relied on a high-pressing, possession-based style of play to win matches, creating the balance of chances and dictating the tempo.

Against the Bianconeri, however, they were unable to do this, managing to take just five shots over the ninety minutes while it was their opponents who pushed high up and forced the issue.

However, Inzaghi’s men found a way to take the three points instead of this, defending stoutly and finding the only goal of the encounter through a penalty.

Nicolo Barella won the ball back seven times and Marcelo Brozovic did so eight times on a night where they had to sacrifice and keep their concentration throughout many scrappy moments and under intense pressure.

For the first time, Inzaghi showed that he can coach a team to a difficult, “dirty” win without having control over the chances and possession.
