Inter wingback Robin Gosens is prepared to step into a more prominent position in the team to help them to push for the Scudetto in the final matches of the Serie A season.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that coach Simone Inzaghi is ready to start giving the German starts in the run-in of the season.

Gosens has yet to make his first start for Inter since joining from Atalanta during the January transfer window, despite having now been fit for over a month.

Ivan Perisic has continued to be trusted with the starting role on the left, while Gosens’ most prominent appearance so far came in the form of a substitute appearance and assist against Salernitana.

However, Inzaghi is happy with how the 27-year-old is performing in training and believes that in the coming games he is more than ready as an option, possibly against Hellas Verona this weekend.
