Legendary former Inter, Juventus, and Brazil left-back Roberto Carlos feels that the Nerazzurri are the definite favourites for the Scudetto this season.
Speaking to Italian broadcaster DAZN, the Brazilian named Inter as the team likeliest to go on and capture the Serie A title over the remaining matches of the campaign though he predicted that it will be tightly contested until the end.
Inter will feel that the momentum shifted in their favour at the top of the Serie A table based on the results of the weekend.
The Nerazzurri are still not top of the table, as they sit two points behind city rivals AC Milan, but they can overtake the Rossoneri as well as go three points clear of Napoli should they win their game in hand.
Apart from having their fate in their own hands in terms of the numbers, Inter are also playing more confidently than they had been during their period of bad form going into the international break.
Carlos gave his thoughts on the title race, stating that “Inter are favourites, it’s very clear to me. It will be a three-horse race, they will fight for it until the end.”
The Brazilian also spoke about Inter target Paulo Dybala, giving the view that “He’s a world-class player, he can play for a top club like Real or Barcelona.”
“We don’t know what’s going through his head,” he added of Dybala, “he’s a great player. For someone like him, the doors are always open.”
