Inter striker Lautaro Martinez must keep playing like he did in his substitute appearance against Spezia to convince the club that he[‘s unsellable in the summer.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who argue that the Argentine will need to kick on from his goal and assist to seal yesterday evening’s victory.

Martinez was surprisingly left out of the Nerazzurri’s starting eleven to face Spezia, but he more than had his say in his appearance in the second half from the bench.

The 24-year-old’s very well-taken second goal was crucial in giving the team a buffer so that the home side’s late strike was not too damaging, and he did well to assist Alexis Sanchez for the third to seal the points.

Martinez has not always had this cutting edge throughout the season, and this has led to some suggestions that he could be the player likeliest to be sacrificed for financial reasons or to fund reinforcements in the transfer market.

However, if the striker’s performances over the remaining matches of the season continue to be at the standard of his display yesterday evening, then the club would have to have major second thoughts about selling him.
