Inter are targeting Paris Saint-Germain’s Leandro Paredes and Atletico Madrid’s Rodrigo De Paul as player who can add strength in depth to their midfield.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the two Argentine players are targeted for their ability to seriously challenge for the starting roles.

The Nerazzurri’s plan for next season is to be less reliant on their starting midfield trio of Marcelo Brozovic, Nicolo Barella, and Hakan Calhanoglu.

To this end, they are looking to bring in a midfielder who has the quality and versatility to fill in for essentially any one of the trio, particularly Brozovic, and for this reason Paredes and De Paul are both serious targets.

Both midfielders could be available from their current clubs during the summer, and the Nerazzurri’s thinking is centred around signing just one of the two to add quality to their midfield depth rather than just making up the numbers.
