Inter could be counting on the returns of key players to fitness as well as a fixture list that looks straightforward on paper in order to finish the Serie A season strongly.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who note the Nerazzurri’s squad and remaining matches as factors in their favour as they aim to catch up to AC Milan in the title race.

The Nerazzurri’s work is cut out for them if they wish to catch their city rivals in the table over the four matches remaining.

Coach Simone Inzaghi has emphasized not focusing on the Rossoneri’s exploits, though they are aware that their city rivals must drop three or more points to let them back in at the top, given the head-to-head advantage.

At any rate, the Nerazzurri must target four wins from four, but they could see this as attainable, with the likes of Robin Gosens and Arturo Vidal back to full fitness and Alessandro Bastoni and Hakan Calhanoglu set to return imminently.

Inter have a simpler fixture list than Milan on paper, facing Udinese this evening and then Empoli, Cagliari, and Sampdoria, and they will focus on the task at hand and feel that at the very least they can push Milan to the final day.
